Liz Brandenburg is a Fargo native who has been dancing since the age of three, beginning under the instruction of the Gasper family with the original Red River Dance and Performing Company. She became very passionate about dance and joined a local competing company where she traveled the Midwest competing in all styles of dance. She attended Concordia College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Mass Media and English Print Journalism. During this time, she was captain on the nationally ranked Minnesota State University Moorhead dance team. In 2006, she was named Performer of the Year by the United Performing Association, as well as receiving the Just for Kix Award for Outstanding Choreography in 2008. Her dancing has taken her all over the U.S. and she has starred in numerous television and radio commercials throughout the area. She has led many competing teams to win countless awards and titles throughout the country.
Liz has been teaching for the last 15 years, which includes many area dance schools such as Red River Dance, Trollwood Performing Arts School, Gasper's School of Dance, and most recently Dimensions School of Dance and Music in Albuquerque, NM. While in New Mexico, she also worked with many high school dance teams, as well choreographing for the nationally ranked University of New Mexico dance team and spirit program. Liz was also greatly involved with a school-based mentor program that helps children and youth, ages 6-14, build strong character, achieve positive self-esteem, and create solutions to their everyday problems with the help of a caring relationship.
When she is not dancing, Liz is the Marketing Director for Northwestern Bank in Moorhead, MN. She is excited to be back in Fargo to continue her love for working with kids and teaching dance back at her GSDPA home!
