Instructor: Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Modern, Lyrical, Performance Team Assistant Coach
Laura Kuhn grew up in Morris, Minnesota and began dancing at the age of 3. For 15 years she danced at Footnotes Studio of Dance and studied various styles including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and pointe. While dancing at Footnotes Studio of Dance she received high awards at numerous dance competitions and attended dance conventions across the nation.
She graduated from Minnesota State University, Moorhead with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Inclusive Education. Her studies focused on addressing students’ diverse needs and supporting student growth, no matter their ability level. In addition to her Elementary Inclusive Education Degree, Laura continued to study dance while at MSUM and minored in Theater Dance. She studied musical theatre history, movement for actors, and principals of choreography. Laura was also a competitive dancer on MSUM’s nationally ranked Dragon Dance Team where she trained in pom, team jazz, and hip hop.
Laura is the happiest when she is teaching dance because it is where her love and excitement for dance collides with her desire to provide quality education for children. She has taught dance in the FM area for the past 4 years and is looking forward to her third year teaching at Gasper’s School of Dance.
