Levels &
Placement
At our Dance School, we offer 6 levels of dance for both recreational and competitive dancers. Each level is carefully placed according to skill level and experience. We have a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Lyrical. All of our classes are designed to nurture and develop each dancer's technique, artistry, and performance. Our experienced instructors will evaluate your child and help them find the best level for their individual skill set.

We are streamlining our class levels for our 2023 - 2024 season to help with class placement, as well as the introduction of our syllabus.

Levels at Gasper's School of Dance
At Gasper's School of Dance, we offer 6 levels of dance for recreational, competitive, and pre-professional dancers. Dancers are placed into each level carefully according to skill level, technique, and experience. We have a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Pointe, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Dance Fitness, Dance Technique, and Modern. All of our classes are designed to nurture and develop each dancer's technique, artistry, and performance. Our experienced instructors will evaluate your child and help them find the best level for their individual skill set.

Dancers in preschool and kindergarten begin in our Novice Level. Dancers in these levels mostly progress by age. Though maturity and skill level is considered when placing dancers.

Our adult program is mostly an open level program. More experienced dancers do have the option to join ballet 2 adult and pointe / pre-pointe adult.
​
Teens new to dance or returning to dance after years off training have a place at Gasper's School of Dance. We developed a Teen program for those starting dance later in their youth and the ability to dance with their peers vs younger dancers.

Class Placement

Dancers will remain in a level for 2+ season as they work on progressions in the level.

Dancers progress at their individual pace and we want to make sure they are ready for the next level and are executing, demonstrating and comprehend skills and technique before advancing.

Taking multiple dance styles may help your dance advance more quickly.

Also note that if your dancer adds a new style to their training after years of one style, that new style may not be in the same level placement as the one they have been studying longer.
