Instructor: Fitness for the Dancer, Progressive Ballet Technique
Paula Comeau is a native of McLaughlin, South Dakota where she started in athletics and fitness at a young age. She moved to Bismarck, ND in 2000 where she was a member of the competitive Cheerleading Team and after graduation was a part of coaching team for the BHS Demon Junior Varsity Cheer Team for the 2002-2003 season and also the Fargo South cheer team for the 2011-2012 season.
In 2007, she became a fitness specialist at the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties which instilled a passion for movement and health and wellness. In 2010 she became a certified yoga instructor and has acquired a mix of various yoga certifications over the years including specialties in anatomy and alignment, Barre, and dynamic movement. In 2015, 2016, 2017, Paula trained in Miami at Budokon University under Cameron and Melayne Shayne becoming trained in the Budokon Primary and Secondary series and dymanic/animal movement. Also in 2016, Paula became a Certified Personal Trainer through NETA.
Paula Grew up passionate about dance, competing in local small town talent competitions, but did not begin her formal dance training until she started adult ballet with Mrs. Gasper at Gasper’s School of Dance. From that point on dance has been a continuous part of her life and enjoys sharing her talents as fitness professional with the Gasper Family.
Paula’s formal education includes an Associates in Science, a Bachelor’s in Zoology, a Master’s in English and Ph.D. in Natural Resources Management. In general, she’s just spent too many years enjoying the student discount on dance classes. When Paula is not teaching or dancing at the studio, during the academic year she can be found teaching a variety of classes for the North Dakota University System and in the summer she enjoys working as a Naturalist for the Department of Natural Resources in Minnesota.
